April 2023 Spotlight

Welcome to this month’s Spotlight issue highlighting April calendar events that call attention to the wonders of the planet and the urgency to protect our world. National Environmental Education Week is April 19-23 and it is all about taking time to talk about ways in which we can individually and collectively take action to understand, protect, and sustain the health of the planet. Other calendar events include California Poppy Day, John Muir Day, and Earth Day. Environmental education is more than information. It is a process for raising awareness and thinking critically about environmental issues. It is a mindset and a celebration of the interconnectedness that we all share with our world. It is a call to all of us to be involved.

And, as always, encourage your colleagues to join CCSS so that they too, can become part of a dynamic network of educators!
