Welcome to the April Spotlight: Using Geography’s Disciplinary Lens to Get Us Where We Want to Be. This issue provides resources for educators and students to understand the rapidly changing and interconnected world they live in and for which they inherit responsibility. The April focus is geography which shares the human story, a landscape which stages the natural and human story of our planet. Geography is a powerful springboard for divergent and convergent thinking to learn through the themes of history, geography, economics, and civic engagement with a focus on location, place, human-environment interaction, and movement. Equipped with geographic knowledge and skills, students can plot their own paths with more confidence and specificity, and focus their agency in ways that contribute to a more sustainable, just, and vibrant future.
