Benjamin James

BIO

Benjamin has over a decade’s worth of teaching experience, serving as classroom teacher and pedagogical leader in U.S. schools and dual-language schools abroad. He has presented on technology integration and dual-language education at international conferences in Asia and the upcoming CCSS 2019 conference in San Jose. He recently published an article on ed-tech integration featured in the latest issue of the Social Studies Review. Benjamin brings a uniquely global perspective to the CCSS with a focus on promoting global citizenship, student-led inquiry, and student agency in the social studies classroom. As CCSS Region 5 director, he will share this experience by supporting teachers to provide more equitable social studies and civics education to the amazingly diverse school communities in our region and across California.
